sinidentidades:
I’m queer, too. Ryking’s constant promotion of misandry and his attacks on feminism are way off base. Misandry requires an actual systematic oppression of men. Such a thing doesn’t exist. Sorry. You can call me a homophobe for coming up with Ryking’s Banana Republic, but that was in reference to the fiasco with TAA’s nude photos/videos being leaked onto the internet. It had nothing to do with your sexuality.
As a person from a marginalized group, you should be sensitive and willing to empathize with other marginalized groups when they have something to say to you. You should actually listen to what they have to say. Instead, you decide to support someone like TAA who wished rape on people on multiple occasions and has constantly slung around pejorative and disparaging slurs towards people with the intent to hurt.
You can go on and defend him all you want, but realize that this has made you look like the person we’ve all known you to be.
First, I had no idea that you came up with the sexist, misandrist, and homophobic meme about me, “sinidentidades.” Second, it doesn’t matter if your intent was not to demean me based on my sexuality because people like “Unknowable Woman” (among others) demeaned me based on my homosexuality, and that is a direct result of your action. Third, TAA is a person from a marginalized group; he’s an atheist — like me. Fourth, TAA has repeatedly expressed regret and apologized for his actions — while detractors like you have engaged in the same type of behavior he has and then hypocritically attempted to justify it. Fifth, you can rationalize and defend your behavior all you want, but realize that this makes you look like the hypocrite that many know you to be. — Ryking
As I’ve said before, we all must make our calculus in supporting a candidate or even claiming he is “good” for the debate. But it must be an honest calculus.
If you believe that a character who would conspire to profit off of white supremacy, anti-gay bigotry, and anti-Semitism is the best vehicle for convincing the country to end the drug war, to end our romance with interventionism, to encourage serious scrutiny of state violence, at every level, then you should be honest enough to defend that proposition.
What you should not do is claim that Ron Paul “legislated” for Martin Luther King Day, or claim to have intricate knowledge of Ron Paul’s heart, and thus by the harsh accumulation of evidence, be made to look ridiculous.
Ta-Nehisi Coates, “No One Left to Lie To.”
“If you believe that a character who would conspire to profit off of white supremacy, anti-gay bigotry, and anti-Semitism is the best vehicle for convincing the country to end the drug war, to end our romance with interventionism, to encourage serious scrutiny of state violence, at every level, then you” are a disgusting piece of shit and a fool to boot. (In other words, you’re a typical Paulite cultist.)
